It’s my great pleasure that Emarsys is officially part of the SAP family!

For all of us at Emarsys, this is a very special day. We couldn’t have done it without the hard work and dedication of the entire Emarsys team, as well as our incredible clients and partners. 

Although it’s a moment to celebrate and be excited for what’s to come, it’s also an important opportunity to reflect on where we started, where we are today, and where we will be in the future.

Where We Started

I recently celebrated my 10-year anniversary at Emarsys. During this time, technology has certainly advanced, and the landscape of our dynamic industry has gone through incredible change. Over the years, I’ve seen companies have great success, some that have simply come and gone, and others that have evolved into something completely new. But I noticed a consistent theme in the companies that have lasted and made their mark: they always have a strong vision and company culture.  

Since the day our company was founded by Josef Ahorner, Hagai Hartman, and Daniel Harari in Vienna, Austria, we’ve had a pure vision, which is to enable brands to deliver personalized and consistent interactions across all channels that drive measurable outcome quickly, while keeping an unwavering commitment to our clients’ success. We’ve been able to achieve this through innovation in digital marketing and a dedication to helping clients deliver the best customer experiences possible. Moreover, we’ve always sought out the best and brightest talent, individuals who believe in what we do, and are passionate about creating value for our customers.

Emarsys began as an email marketing platform with a strong foundation of data collection, augmentation, and transformation, as well as personalized interactions. We have always maintained this important foundation, and we’ve evolved to respond to the consumer’s desire to be truly understood, to have their privacy respected, and to have brands provide them with personalized experiences, consistently, across all channels, leading us to become the only omnichannel customer engagement platform built to accelerate business outcomes.

Where We Are

Today Emarsys has over 1,500 customers worldwide and more than 800 employees across 13 offices including London, Berlin, Sydney, and Budapest, as well as a U.S. headquarters in Indianapolis. And, I’m proud to say, we are truly industry leaders. 

We were recently named a leader in The Forrester Wave:™ Cross-Channel Campaign Management (Independent Platforms), Q4 2019. We were also named a leader in G2’s Summer 2020 Grid® Report for E-Commerce Personalization and Mid-Market Grid® Report for E-Commerce Personalization. I believe this is a testament to our talented and brilliant people, amazing company culture, great innovative products, and world-class clients and partners, all of which allow us to set the tone in the industry when it comes to personalization and omnichannel customer engagement.

I mention these accolades not to self-congratulate, but to show how hard we’ve worked to deliver value for our clients and provide the best platform possible. However, being industry leaders doesn’t mean we stop growing, stop innovating, and simply rest on our laurels. Instead, we must continue to grow, innovate, and evolve so that our clients can continue to deliver the predictable, profitable outcomes their business demands and the highly engaging personalized experiences their customers deserve.

Today marks the next step in that evolution. 

A New Era of Customer Experience Begins

Effective today, the Emarsys products will be added to the SAP Customer Experience portfolio, which includes market-leading solutions such as SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Performance Management, and SAP Customer Data Cloud, as well as others.   

For us, this is simply a continuation of what we’ve always aspired towards: that unwavering commitment to our clients’ success. Customer experience is becoming an increasingly important focus for businesses worldwide, and there is a tremendous opportunity to help companies excel in this area. Emarsys is profoundly experienced with this — in fact, it’s part of our expertise. Being acquired by a global leader like SAP, a company that has a strong vision and excellent culture, means we will be able to offer our clients even more opportunities and solutions for driving their business forward with the best omnichannel customer engagement platform and the best martech solutions available. 

Marketing is no longer brand-first. It’s customer-first. Customer experience is critical. I believe that, as part of the SAP family, we will have an opportunity to help truly revolutionize CX.

Final Thoughts
